Hey Trailblazers! I have an all-day team meeting so I opted for one of the more basic badges available in trailhead: The Sales Cloud: Quick Look.

It's basically an intro to Salesforce; probably a little too beginner if you're a certified admin or sales cloud consultant, but if you're not yet, perfect! Let's review all the key concepts in this badge.

GET TO KNOW SALES CLOUD KEY CONCEPTS

  • CRM stands for customer relationship management.
  • Salesforce is the first company that took CRM to the cloud.
  • Sales Cloud is part of the CRM system that Salesforce offers, created especially for sales people.

If you see this at your company, you may need Sales Cloud:

  • Your customer info is all over the place.
  • You're losing critical information.
  • You don't have a plan to scale fast.
  • Running reports is a painful and tedious process.
  • You have to sit down at a desk to push a deal forward.
  • You're stuck with the status quo.

Sales Cloud boosts sales by consolidating your customer information, giving you insights and intelligence on how to move deals forward.

GROW YOUR BUSINESS WITH SALES CLOUD KEY CONCEPTS

  • Automatically prioritize and route leads: hot leads don't stay hot for long! Sales Cloud corrects the problem of routing leads with smarter ways to rank leads and send them to the best rep.
  • Einstein high velocity sales cloud automatically prioritizes the best leads, autodials the next number, and auto logs interactions.
  • Manage your pipeline from lead to close: reps should record everything they do in the sales cloud, which is easy to do since sales cloud makes tracking every call, email, and interaction a snap.
  • Make progress anywhere with Salesforce mobile: take the sales cloud wherever you go with Salesforce mobile, downloadable from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Embrace automation: Take advantage of automated workflows to perform basic business processes and integrate Office 365, exchange, or Gmail to track your reps' emails.

MEASURE SALES METRICS THAT MATTER KEY CONCEPTS

  • If it's not in Sales Cloud it doesn't exist! Boy is this ever true. Don't let reps try and sell you on how hard they're working (believe me they will). A rep only works as hard as their work shows in Salesforce. Period.
  • You can't manage what you can't measure.
  • Sales Cloud lets you see what your sales team is doing in real time.
  • Dashboards are a great way to visualize your most important reports and share them with anyone.
  • Use forecasting to easily see a rel time view of forecasting throughout the organization, including in-line forecast adjustments.
  • Keep forecasts accurate with well-defined sales stages.
  • Reps can use Opportunity Kanban. As they drag deals into a new stage, their totals recalculate immediately, and your org gets critical visibility.

LEARN ABOUT SALESFORCE PLATFORM ADVANTAGE KEY CONCEPTS

  • Business need to create an excellent experience from the first interaction with sales reps all the way to customer service agents who field customers complaints and concerns.
  • 78% of buyers said they would switch brands if they received inconsistent levels of service.
  • Equip sales and service for success by breaking down the wall between them.
  • Empower your sales team with customer intelligence: Make sure the sales and service relationship is more than just a handoff.
  • Service can help close the deal: Support agents can also act as cross-sell agents!
  • Keep customers coming back for more: With data available to both teams, agents are in the know at all times and don't need to be "filled in" before an interaction.
  • Sales and service is on the same powerful, integrated platform.
